The Threadneedle story
1994
Threadneedle is born, created out of the investment operations of Allied Dunbar and Eagle Star.
1997
Threadneedle's UK OEIC Funds are launched.

Threadneedle is bought by Zurich Financial Services Group.
1998
Threadneedle enters the German and Austrian markets.
1999
Threadneedle enters the Benelux market.
2000
Threadneedle enters the UK institutional market.

As the century turns Threadneedle launches its first hedge fund.
2002
Threadneedle commences business in Chile.
Threadneedle enters the Swiss market.
2003
Threadneedle enters the French market.

Threadneedle is acquired by American Express.
2004
Threadneedle commences business in the Middle Eastern markets.
2005

American Express Financial Corporation is spun off from American Express and becomes Ameriprise Financial.
Threadneedle enters the Nordic market.
2006
Threadneedle enters the Dutch institutional market and opens an office in the Netherlands.
2007
Threadneedle enters the Spanish market.
2008
Threadneedle purchases Invesco Perpetual's defined contribution business.

Threadneedle enters the Asian market, with its first office in Hong Kong.
Threadneedle enters the Italian market.
2009

Threadneedle, introduces the SICAV range following the acquisition of the World Express investment funds business from Standard Chartered Bank.
Threadneedle significantly broadens its Fixed Income team with senior appointments in ABS in both the UK and Australia.
